"Il Giovedi" (The Thursday) is the day that misfit Dino Versini (Walter Chiari)meets his son Robertino (Roberto Ciccolini)for the first time in the boy's living memory. Versini's former wife and mother of the boy has re-married into a higher social class and asks Versini to meet the boy who has requested to meet his biological father. Versini's attempts to win the boy's love and respect escalate throughout the film, in spite of this middle aged "Fannulloni"'s shortcomings. Director Risi's avoids the pitfalls of this simple plot with some funny and tender scenes between father and son. The Italy of 1964 captured in this film has all but disappeared. (Gettulio - IMDB).
